Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Substance Abuse Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments and screenings to evaluate clients' substance abuse histories alongside their mental health status.

• Crafting personalized treatment plans that address both addiction and any co-occurring mental health disorders, ensuring a comprehensive approach to recovery.

• Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions employing evidence-based therapeutic frameworks, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• Collaborating closely with other treatment team professionals, including nurses, social workers, and psychiatrists, to provide integrated and holistic care.

• Providing education and support to clients' families, involving them in the recovery process and enhancing their understanding of addiction as a family disease.

• Maintaining detailed and accurate client records in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

You will primarily work with individuals seeking help for substance abuse disorders who may also be facing co-occurring mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, or trauma. Qualifications\n

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:

• A valid state license as an LSCSW, LCSW, LCP, LCPC, LCMFT, or a PsyD.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field.
\n
• Specialized training or experience in addiction counseling, underpinned by a strong understanding of evidence-based practices.

• Exceptional therapeutic and counseling skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire clients.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills capable of facilitating effective teamwork and collaboration.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in telehealth counseling, crisis intervention, or previous roles within the substance abuse treatment field will be highly regarded. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and data management tools is a plus, enhancing efficiency and compliance in client documentation.
